SEABIRDS OF BEMPTON CLIFFS

IMG_5653.jpg

Photograph puffins, gannets & more at Bempton Cliffs.

A small group photo tour focused on flight & coastal compositions.

For this summer tour, we'll stay just minutes from the spectacular Bempton Cliffs, home to the UK's largest mainland Gannet colony, during the height of the seabird nesting season.

Photographing from dawn to dusk under my guidance, you'll learn how to capture sriking images of Gannets, Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, and other seabirds as they soar past at eye level, wheel overhead with nesting material, and plunge dramatically into the sea to fish.

With so much activity unfolding around us, we'll spend time exploring creative options with our cameras - from experimenting with shutter speed to backlit and black-and-white imagery. We'll work with changing weather and light to create photographs that go beyond simple record shots and capture the energy of the colony.

By focusing on a single location over several days, you'll have the time and freedom to refine your photography. This immersive approach consistently helps guests return home with stronger portfolios, memorable experiences, and photographs they can be truly proud of.

“I have been on a few workshops, including the Bempton Seabirds trip, with Paul now and thoroughly enjoyed all of them! Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful - almost all of my favourite images I have ever taken have been on his tours, and are a testament to his expertise and ability to provide support and guidance. Thank you!"

ITINERARY
The following is a proposed itinerary, subject to animal activity and weather conditions.

Meet and greet, and a light lunch in town. Check in at accommodation.

Afternoon/Sunset orientation session at the seabird colony - capturing initial shots and observing gannets and other seabirds such as puffin, fulmar, kittiwake, guillemot, and razorbill. Dinner in town, followed by a creative discussion on ideas and everyones' targets for the days ahead.

LOCATION

We will stay in a B&B, a short walk from town and with easy access to the seabird colony. There are cafes and tearooms on site for any additional provisions.

Our location means that we can be out on location for the best light, and at certain times of day we should have the place virtually to ourselves, allowing for more intimate seabird encounters.
