TAWNY OWL WORKSHOPS

A rare opportunity to photograph wild Tawny Owls at a private farmland site near Winchester.

We are lucky to have a resident pair of owls that we know well, giving us exceptional opportunities to photograph these charismatic birds in flight, hunting, and interacting naturally at dusk.

Using carefully controlled flash techniques, we can create striking images that reveal their secret lives. The owls hunt in a well-lit area and are accustomed to our hide and lighting setup, meaning that we can take photos without disturbing their activities.

The workshop runs for approximately three hours (6-9pm) and includes hands-on tuition in flash photography (equipment provided). We’ll cover practical techniques for balancing flash with ambient light, focusing in low-light conditions, and creating clean, dramatic flight images.
