NORTH-EAST INDIA

233_Z5_edited.jpg

This exciting 14-day wildlife photo tour goes in search of some of NE India's rarest mammals and birds, across three beautiful National Parks – Manas, Kaziranga and Singalila.

Join award-winning photographer Paul Alistair Collins and experienced local guide Sumit Sahai to experience India's rarest wildlife, across three breathtakingly beautiful National Parks – Manas, Kaziranga and Singalila.

One of India’s smallest national parks, Singalila is a pure gem. It is the best place in India to spot one of the world's most beautiful mammals, the Red Panda, against a backdrop of spectacular Himalayan vistas.

From there, our journey takes us to some of North-East India’s most biodiverse reserves, Kaziranga and Manas, each reserve revealing its own unique treasures. Tigers roam alongside Rhinos, Elephants, Leopards, and Wild Buffalo, and where rarities such as the Golden Langur, Hoolock's Gibbon and Pygmy Hog still survive.

LOCATION

We'll be staying in comfortable accommodations at the gateway to across three breathtakingly beautiful National Parks – Manas, Kaziranga and Singalila.

Singalila is a pure Himalayan gem, and the best place in India to spot the Red Panda. Meanwhile at Kaziranga and Manas, Tigers roam along side Rhinos, Elephants, Leopards, and Wild Buffalo, and where rarities such as the Golden Langur, Hoolock's Gibbon and Pygmy Hog still survive.

Kaziranga

On the southern banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River lies Kaziranga, one of India’s oldest and beloved reserves.

Manas’ scenic beauty is worthy of a visit in itself, but this World Heritage national park bordering Bhutan also hosts some of India's most endangered wildlife - including the Bengal Tiger and the world's largest population of One-Horned Rhino.

Here, the Tiger shares the jungle with Elephants, Wild Buffalo, Swamp Deer and the critically endangered Pygmy Hog. These unique, bountiful and stunningly beautiful habitats will thrill all wildlife lovers and photographers.

Manas

This lush UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the best places in the whole of India to spot the "Big 6" - the Tiger, One-Horned Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, and the critically endangered Golden Langur.

This elusive langur can also be tracked at the wildlife reserve of Kakoijana, a major stronghold of the endangered species.

There is rich birdlife, including the critically endangered Greater Adjutant Stork is a heart-warming success story of community conservation project.

Singalila

One of India’s smallest national parks, Singalila is a pure gem and an experience of a lifetime. It is the best place in India to photograph the iconic and adorable Red Pandas, while enjoying spectacular Himalayan vistas and views of Everest.

A birdwatcher's paradise, the park has over 300 bird species, including Blood and Khalij Pheasants, and the rare Satyr Tragopan.

In November, the world's largest concentration of orchids are in bloom, with over 600 orchid varieties present.

Hoolongapar

Listen to the haunting calls of the only true ape in the Indian subcontinent, the Hoolock Gibbon, at this remote evergreen forest in Assam.

A supporting cast of no fewer than six primate species - Stump-Tailed Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Northern Pig-Tailed Macaque, Assamese Macaque, Slow Loris, and Capped Langur - makes tracking the Gibbon on foot through the sanctuary a truly memorable experience.

We may also spot Elephants, Leopards, Leopard Cat, Jungle Cat, Barking Deer, Civet, Rock Python, and plentiful birdlife.

WHAT MAKES THIS TOUR FOR YOU?

For this tour, we will visit some of India's most spectacular and least visited national parks, during the peak season for mammal sightings, bird migrations, orchid blooms and pleasant weather.

With expert photographic guidance from award-winning photographer Paul Alistair Collins, we'll ensure you capture truly unique images. We are proud to be in partnership with Sumit Sahai and trackers of Instep Adventures, who have over three decades of experience leading wildlife tours in these parks. We believe no one knows a land better than those who’ve lived there and travelled its length and breadth, and they will help you make the most of every opportunity.

‘Wildlife tourism, done right’ is the best way to ensure long term survival of wildlife and habitats against threats such as deforestation, human-animal conflict and poaching. Our wildlife encounters create everlasting memories for you while contributing positively to conservation.
