LONDON, UK

Photograph parakeets, grey herons and other iconic urban wildlife in the heart of London!

During this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to photograph many species of bird at very close range in a fun and creative setting.

The day will begin with an introduction on wildlife and tips on photographing birds in pose and flight. We'll head into the park to photograph iconic London species such as Grey Herons, courting Great-Crested Grebes, many species of duck such as Pochard and Mandarin, and Ring-Necked Parakeet flocks. Bird activity is highest in the morning and the lakes are often shrouded in wonderful mists, allowing possibilities for beautiful images. We may even see the Tawny or Little Owls which roost in the park's oak trees or a Kingfisher on the Serpentine.

Paul will offer practical guidance and tuition throughout the morning, and there will be plenty of 1-on-1 learning opportunities for both beginners and intermediate photographers.

LOCATION

This workshop will take place in The Regent's Park, one of 7 Royal parks in central London and a short walk from Baket Street. Over 200 bird species have been recorded here in a single year, many of which can be seen around its lakes and the surrounding woodlands. We'll be taking our time exploring these fruitful areas for subjects to photograph.

WHAT MAKES THIS WORKSHOP FOR YOU?

For this workshop, we will visit one of the best sites in London for bird photography. Your guide, Paul Alistair Collins, has over 15 years' experience photographing the birds of this park, as it is a stone's throw from his London home. This means that you'll get up-to-date information on what wildlife is around and the best approaches to photographing it. We believe no one knows a land better than those who’ve lived there and travelled its length and breadth, and Paul will help you make the most of every opportunity.
