RAINFOREST ANIMALS OF PANAMA

PANAMA CITY

Photograph a dazzling variety of hummingbirds, toucans, monkeys, frogs, and so much more!

Birdcalls awaken you. Inches from your bedroom window, the cloud forest canopy is riotous with birdlife. Hummingbirds and tanagers flit among flowers, toucans flap back and forth, and monkeys clamber through the trees.

The Canopy Tower offers some of the best wildlife photography opportunities that Central America has to offer, and is a place that you must experience at least once in your life. With birds and mammals at eye level, we can get fantastic views that are impossible from the ground, making this a prime spot for experiencing the rainforest. An impressive renovated radar tower situated in the Soberania National Park, 35 miles north of Panama City, it lies at the centre of the New World and the bird migration routes between North and South America. A spectacular 970+ species of bird have been recorded in this small area, not to mention the incredible variety of other wildlife.

We'll also stay at the excellent Canopy Lodge in El Valle, exploring its streams, private gardens and forest paths for a dazzling array of birds, mammals, frogs and butterflies.

WHAT MAKES THIS TOUR FOR YOU?

For this tour, we will visit the best wildlife watching and photography sites that Central America have to offer, during peak seasons for bird migration, and frog and butterfly activity.

With expert photographic guidance from award-winning photographer Paul Alistair Collins, we'll ensure you capture truly unique images and are one of only a few photographers offering this kind of tour. We are proud to be teaming up with the Canopy Familys who have several decades of experience leading nature tours in Panama. We believe no one knows a land better than those who’ve lived there and travelled its length and breadth, and we will help you make the most of every opportunity.

‘Wildlife tourism, done right’ is the best way to ensure long term survival of wildlife and habitats against threats such as deforestation, human-animal conflict and poaching. Our wildlife encounters create everlasting memories for you while contributing positively to conservation. For each Panama holiday we sell, we contribute financially back to local wildlife organisations.
