Performance Photography

As a sideline to wildlife photography, I worked as a freelance theatre and events photographer in Edinburgh from 2009-2015.

In many ways I see those theatre days as crucial formative moments in my approach to photographing animals and capturing light.

 

During coverage of the Edinburgh International and Fringe Festivals, I had unique backstage access to the world's most prestigious

performance arts companies - from the National Ballet of China to the Mariinsky Opera.
